Why are you selling it so soon, and what are you replacing it with ???

For me the biggest gripe is traction in the wet and the annoying wheel hop/axle tramp on uneven surface. Otherwise this is a brilliant car. It has the space and power I need. I'm transitioning to an all wheel drive drivetrain that is the Golf R wagon. At least all of its power will be usable and I will still have the space I require.

i have no idea how you haven't sold this yet. Such a shame the wife doesn't drive manual...

Cheers Matt, I have no idea too. I'm pretty stumped. Not sure if I'm asking too much. That is a shame! This also proves why this car is so hard to sell I guess, because it is a manual. Should've gone for the DSG.

I think it's priced right to sell.

You just have to find the buyer that's after the colour/transmission/body shape. Unfortunately it's steel grey, manual and sedan - if it was blue, DSG, wagon I'm sure it would have already sold by now.

Just have to wait for the right buyer on this one....

Thanks for the reassurance tigger73.

Seems like I've clearly chosen options that are really uncommon for the exclusivity but it's now quickly haunting me at sale time.

I'll just have to keeping waiting, hopefully sooner than later.

^ i agree. The colour and the body style will be the challenge as its definitely a love-it-or-hate-it colour and the wagon has always been more popular. As for the gearbox, people like me would ONLY be interested in manual so id like to think that a certain percentage of people wanting a vRS would be keen on the manual transmission.

Shame your not interested in doing some cheap and simple things to address the wheel hop - my modded Mk6 GTI would have similar/possibly slightly more power than your vRS and i dont have any issues with traction or wheel hop after addressing suspension bushes and engine mount inserts.

Totally agree with you Lucas and what tigger has said, the colour choice and body style makes it really challenging to sell.

I didn't dare perform even the slightest modifications to the car due to the fact that if it came a time for warranty claims, I'd be trampled all over by the dealer indicating that I've void my warranty and I'm not good with confrontation, so I wanted to avoid that at all cost. I had big plans to mod the car too but only after the 5 years warranty was up, and I realized I couldn't bear another 5 years before sorting the issues out, partly due to me being very heavy footed.

Unfortunately for me, time has run out. Dealer has rang saying car should be ready for collection as early as tomorrow or as late as Tuesday. So I guess this thread will be closed in the next couple days without a sale. Bummer.

I think it's the colour & the body.

I really loved the thought of steel grey but when I saw I didn't see it as a long term love.

Sedan body - the wagon is much more popular

^^^ this! You can reduce the axle tramp really easily.

It will be interesting to see what trade-in they give
