Looking at ordering a Fabia 66TSI in late December, was tossing up whether I should get the panoramic sunroof for $1000 extra or not?

I really love the idea of the light it'll add into the car, I'm planning on keeping the car for at least 5 years so I'm not sure whether the Pano is a wise idea due to squeaks and stuff? Any opinions on this?

I'm looking at the Fabia 66TSI with the added Travel Pack, Race blue metallic paint and the Pano as mentioned which comes to $18,790, would I be able to negotiate this much or possibly get extra warranty thrown in?
I'd be purchasing the car from Barbagallo Skoda Perth on partial finance from my bank.

Thanks! :)

I have had sunroofs in my cars since the early 2000's and I had a panoramic sunroof in my Tiguan. I never had any issues with any of them regarding "squeaks and stuff".

I wear glasses and found the only sunroof I had was an absolute pain letting the sunlight in to reflect in strange ways off my glasses.

Ended up blacking it out with window tint.

I would always go the sunroof if I could. Have one in our current 2008 RS and its noise free and worth every cent.

Awesome thanks guys :)
I'll most likely get one If I end up ordering a Fabia :)

The sunroof doesn't seem to open.

Yeah, just make sure you read the brochure correctly. The panoramic roof doesn't open or move in any sense, it is basically a sky light.

I know about that, kinda wants me want it more because it's a lot less likely to leak! :)

Yeah I found out about that which is actually why I'm considering it, I don't think I'd ever open it anyway if It was possible because I usually drive with my windows up.
I like how it's secured and doesn't open because it's a lot less likely to leak and I want to keep the car for at least 5 years! :)

Just test drove a Fabia 81Kw DSG hatch with one and it is kinda nice. Seems moderately tinted and has the blind which is perforated, so it's no where near a blackout blind. I do wonder how much heat load it will add to the car. Shouldn't be any issues with leaking given it's just a fixed window.

You don't notice it a lot in the front seats, but would in the back ones. I have an opening one in a 2001 Saab Aero and it is nice to have it open when under 80 Kmph on a nice day.

Your other option would be to have a Webasto one retrofitted into a solid roof Fabia. Roughly $2000-2200 for the top of the line version.

I've had Webasto ones put in before and the factory ones are a lot better. The Mk2 Octavias had a solid blind but seems the perforated thinner kind is what there is now. I only shut mine on very hot sunny days above 40C, the rest of the time it is fine. Great for clearing out hot air fast when you get back to your car as well.

Took delivery today and can definitely confirm the sunroof is worth it. So much more light and not much difference in heat that I could tell in a 30 degree day with the climate control on. Will post some pics up tomorrow.

Woofy - which model or type of Webasto did you have? They seem to have everything from the simple pop up right through to the factory like pop up/slide unit (pretty sure Webasto make the factory ones).

I'm toying with the idea of putting one in my car as I have the top one (factory) in a Saab and it very nice on a good day.

Thought I'd throw this up to show how far it actually covers. Basically the whole seating area. Mate was in the back today and loved it.

That looks amazing!!!! I'm so sold on getting one now! I won't be ordering til next year now because I'm starting a new job like now and can't get finance for 3 months!
Unless they can order it in on conditional finance for me?
I saw some grey rims in the brochure too which I would get on it if I can and the travel pack :)

Order it now. Ask for one of the conditions to be "pending finance"
You're looking at possibly up to 6 months wait after you order.
Might be worth going to the dealer and asking about wait times.

Glad to see another exSaaber pick up a Fabia. Great little car in the same frame as the 900/9^3
