As title recently purchased a golf vr6 has only had 1 owner from new and full vw service history (well til 2012 then local garage did the last 2 services). and full factory leather (not heated but curious to find out if seats have heater elements in them so I can get rest of wiring and switch and have heated leather....
Plans for it are to fit new stock suspension or maybe coilovers (these are creaking and knocking now).
Just ordered a ram air filter (I love the sound of these on the vr6 engine) maybe get a Remus catback exhaust.
Fix the heater matrix possibly, its been by[passed due to leaking in car slightly (I plugged it back in to check lol).
Fix rear electric windows and just ordered a central locking pump as old one had got water in it and burnt out :-(
Other than that as its a 97/98 model maybe looking into fitting arch trims like the earlier vr6s...
Here are some pics will get ones soon.

dont think any of our aussie leather fitted cars would.
door cards would suggest the leather was done here

Looks good! The 'VR6' logo in the grill looks like it needs to be shifted back over (it should just slide)

That's some 80s futuristic styling right there on the Renault.

Gotta get those black trim strips back to black man.
We have had many discussions as to what is the best way to do that. Personally heat gun works best. Others will say otherwise..

Where did you get the 5 from? Did you import it or someone else?

Yeah was thinking about that with the trims don't like colour coded at all and I do want arch trims too...
The Renault 5 gt turbo was a personal import by previous owner and one of a handful in Australia :-)
Running just shy of 200bhp (just had rebuild) with full leather interior and engine bay like new with virtually chrome everything

I remember when I cleaned out my engine bay for the first time. So much dirt probably got some good weight reduction, lol.

Well what a day today went out for a spin (well to get oil and service pack) got there all good coming back another story...!!
Low level oil warning lamp and buzzer came on pulled over checked and was on minimum oil, Luckily I had oil in the boot sorted that out and then literally 20 secs later car started to mis-fire was only 2 minutes away from home at this point got it into the garage and got under the hood to only find that the coilpack had cracked and lost a ht lead :-(
Now need coilpack and deffo need to do the rocker cover gasket leak!! suppose will have to take part of inlet manifold off so will need a gasket for that too :-( the joys of older cars!!
