New members are not allowed to sell. Although you joined the forum several years ago, your post count is very low. I believe your post count needs to be 50 or higher before you can advertise items for sale.

Classifieds section is for active members. Rules are in the stickies but it's 90 days and 10 posts minimum before you can post a new thread.

Actually it is standard for most forums
What sucks is when a new member comments on a whole bunch of stuff with inane comments to build their post count, they get to the criteria then then they never contribute again.

I think posts in " General discussion" dont count either

Correct. Only VW related forum areas count towards your post count.

I've found many forums follow a similar set of rules. Maybe it is to prevent scammers?

Hi all, I am new to the forum.

I am looking to post a WTB thread. Is that allowed before meeting the newbie hurdles?

Thanks Hillbilly. I did actually read that thread before asking my q. It does say that the newbie rule doesn't apply to WTB, but then goes on to talk about WTB being for parts, not cars. And then the WTB thread is filled with posters looking for parts. Anyway, short story is I got a bit confused. But thanks.
