Found a business blog post from overseas that modifies VWs and especially Passat in this page.
Sees like there are a lot of stuff that can be done but labour cost would cost a bomb.

Yeah Jimmy has done some crazy stuff like Adaptive Cruise and Dynamic Chassis control etc

I stumbled on Jimmy's website/blog not so long ago.

I would love to retrofit the Dynamic Chassis Control - he makes it look so easy, but I bet it isn't. I'm sure it would cost a lot more than the $1,650 it cost as an option when new. I'm presuming that Jimmy makes up the wiring harnesses himself?

Are the calibration and shock absorbers the same as those fitted to the B6 3.2 Highline, or did the R36 come with its own calibration?

Is there anyone selling a DCC kit on the net?

Does the DCC need calibration based on the regular ride height of the car against its springs? Would the lowered suspension the R36 sits on compared to a regular B7 (20-25mm lower) create a confusion on the car computer meaning it continually thinks that the car is corning on all four wheels thus tightening up the dampers and then affect the comfort of the ride?

I'm sure most of it can be done just the labour cost that worries me. Looks like Jimmy did remove a whole lot of trim to access the controllers.

I reckon the return on investment would be pretty limited on an R36 with DCC.
His is a regular B6.
Adaptive cruise would be cool just as an academic exercise to get it working, but the cost by the time you replace gateway, CECM, ABS module and the radar would be pretty prohibitive, plus I've read that the coding and adaptation is a bit of an ordeal.

Tons of labour and parts cost there, five digits worth easily imo. I love the B7 Passat clock retrofit and easy open boot.

Now I feel guilty of not doing all these before!
CBX RNS510 & Accessories: Colour MFD Cluster Upgrade (http://jimmy-cbx.blogspot.com.au/p/mid-to-high-line-cluster.html?m=0)
CBX RNS510 & Accessories: Golf R Steering Wheels (http://jimmy-cbx.blogspot.com.au/p/golf-r-steering-wheels.html?m=0)

After looking at kamolds mods and these photos, the mod bug is starting to itch again! hahahaa...
And I finally managed to compile updates to my personal POIs with the latest speed camera from POIDB.com and some local petrol stns using POInspector. All ticked my my trip next week :D

Its a terrible affliction...but so fun :)
Steering wheel is my next project after I do my inner tail lights. Gonna take a while to save up for it but I reckon it will really modernise the cabin look (along with the colour cluster which has already gone a fair towards that end)

I would like my mirrors to auto fold and horn to chirp when I lock the car Any one seen how to do any of this

The horn chirp is done via VCDS in module 09-Central Electrics. The auto folding mirror requires a lot of fiddly work to resolder some tiny little part on some board in the car.

I read it somewhere. I'll do a search. Apparently there is also a new module you can buy and retrofit to do it. There is a video on YouTube showing the installation of it.

Thanks for that The $30 bit from Ali Express looks to be the go as would cost more to get it done here i guess

Now to find how to do the horn chirp bit

You can only see the replies if you are a member, of which i am not. Care to post the link to said part! Ive had the horn chirp donw on mine. Took like two minutes to do. Mate did it for me at a meet. From memory it will be pretty obvious once you are in that area in vcds.

Probably would be if I had a cable.

You have to have folding mirrors already for the unit to work

Be aware that auto folding mirror thing you have linked is for the B7 Passat. This is a B6 thread.
