Good turnout of waterpumpers which was impressive and a all round great feel and vibe today...

I didnt go, coz we had plans for today (1st fang in the r32 to Mt Macedon and back) but i did follow a really nice retro bettle last night on Beach road and then Glenhuntly Road Elwood. Plates 67VDUB, an dfully kitted out with timber luggage racks at what not. Looked great.

to be honest, i didn't have a very good look, but i just couldn't work out how they judged from a dozen stock mk5 GTI's......

they judge the cars on how well they are detailed. I didnt enter mine. But i wouldnt have won either. there are plenty of swirls in the paint thanks to the dealer. It was washed but not overly clean. its silly little things like that that can cause u loss of points in the judges eyes.

Or maybe the LED tails. Or it could be because a number of the Mk 5's didn't enter the Show N Shine. The white 2 door next to mine (with the Porsche wheels) didn't enter.

Anyhoo, who cares. It's more important to have a good day, meet new people, share stories.....to hell with all this competitive crap.

I had a great day! good to talk to some people and sit around with like minded people, I left early and just found out then i came 2nd in standard MK1 & 2 golf, i dunno why i was in standard golf the guy at the gate filled out the form for me and i got 17inch wheels? and a waqrning to anyone that entered, take that entry sticker off asap, last year i left mine on for a week n it is hard to get off after that!

i think it really has to be brough up, my paint job was better than his and mine had a weeks worth of dirt and bird **** on it j: there is absolutely no way in hell that the bling kingcould have fairly won that compaired to Troys and Seans...

Dont forget matt, that with the pastel T-shirts you must also have the cockatoo haircut that you spend over an hour a day just to get right.... maybe if i cut my springs, show off my massive 1.6 8v, paint poorly masked off and finished GT stripes with a rattle can and have absolutely cringeworthy stripe coloured highlights in my interior ill win something for sure.

ohh and i might just cut a massive VW sign out in my roof too.... the cover the back with silver mesh that looks like gutter guard. :rolleyes: i was half expecting him to have a "powered by Honda" sticker on the back windscreen this year

As most of u know my car is still in pieces and im not old enough to drive so the next best thing for DOVW was a pushi... So i cruised round most of the day on this baby... Built all from free stuff, my mate found the frame in a swamp which is pretty cool... Of and the rust is from coats of Red Bull :D
