I have been searching my PCs for malware as the first time each browser session that I click on a Google search result link to VWWatercooled, I get redirected to the Filestore site

Failing to find any trace of malware (and not suffering from this redirect for other sites' Google result links) I found that it could be caused by a plugin installed into vBulletin

Can the site admins please investigate this?

Now the redirects are becoming less family oriented

I thought it was just a mis-click on my part.

I did a google search earlier today and clicked on a link to either here or carandimage.com (can't remember which) and it went to a major adult dating site ... or tried to but the company firewall stopped it.
Bizarre

Get a program called Malwarebytes from its source site and run that. You have got a hijacker and it has probably altered your home page.

You can get them form pages that purport to be original sites but arent and the downloader that they make you use redirects everything after it installs

I have just tested with a computer than is not used in our office except as a test platform for software that we develop and it has the same behaviour

Google Translate (http://translate.google.com.au/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=https://forum.malekal.com/filestore-t50773.html&prev=search)

The forum owner is switched on, have been on and off there for years

Google only. The PC was set up a few weeks ago and is not used in our office except as a test platform for software that we develop .

I am the first one on it to use the browser.

These redirections are ONLY occurring for THIS site.
Try doing what I described in the OP

I've seen the same issue here, on OS X and Windows machines, whenever a link is followed from Google.

Direct browsing from forum search or previous bookmarks does not cause the issue.

Our system is locked down quite tightly. I really doubt it's Malware.

I'm not overly worried as most naughty places (and loads of un-naughty places) are site-blocked from our terminals. I just thought I'd mention it as a back up to what the OP was saying.

I googled VwWatercooled and it came here without problems or any alerts from Nortons

So I've been digging into this a little further and there are a couple of factors at play here. Yes there is some Malware by that name but that doesn't appear to be the problem here as the problem seems to be hitting machines that haven't been on the net before.

I've done a few more server side tweaks to cut off a few more injection techniques that could be used to redirect links on the fly... please try again and let me know if you are still having issues or if that has fixed the problem.

Thanks. That seems to have fixed it :)

Looks better here also - the issue was only intermittent but certainly I'm not seeing the filestore or adult personals page redirects in testing tonight.
