Hey readers,

I collect my new mk7 GTI end of Feb and immediately drive it across the Nullabor from Perth to Sydney. I'll have the standard halogens and would love some rally-esque lighting out the front, with more Bond-esque concealment of the actual spotties.

Is it possible to affix LED bars to the grill of a GTI or elsewhere out front? I hear the little number plate bars can be a little flimsy and rattle at speed but could be swayed with advice. It's a company car so I'm hoping any installation can be removed in 3 years without a trace.

As for lumens, I want the tree in front of me to catch fire when I turn my high beams on! http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2015/01/winkgif-1.jpg

Any comments appreciated, on how to install and/or recommendable LED bars to look out for. Thanks.

Haven't seen much locally but it's been done in Europe: Halogen Hi-beam/DRL bulb - Page 4 - GOLFMK7 - VW GTI MKVII Forum / VW Golf R Forum / VW Golf MKVII Forum (http://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2141&page=4)

Might be worth a check there.

On a similar topic, has anyone seen photos of a modded GTI that goes more down the rally path than the street racing ricer path? Ie spotties, raised, bigger tyres etc? A rally GTI would look sick!!
