That's an awesome price for such a well apointed car.

Subarus worst nightmare - serious competition has now entered the market.

I agree a well appointed car for the $$, if your quick you may be one of the first to get one.

I agree Subaru may just have some competition in this price bracket, now that diesels are so popular and theirs won't be released til next year.

IMO Cheap is not a positive word when discussing cars and manufacturers, time will tell if the Skoda proves to be good value for money or just a cheap import with poor quality and performance. Great list of features on the wagon that would certainly challenge the Libo Wagons if they are well made.

XXX-1.8T is that wagon FWD or AWD?

RS is FWD, but there is a 4x4 available with a 6M 2.0TDi whcich can be chipped to 143kw and 420Nm ;)

you sure about that? i thought it was only the 103kw available in the 4x4 which can only be chipped to around 125kw? and the 4x4 octavia isnt built for going around a track, its built for going down a dirt road... at least thats the impression i was under?

funnily enough, skoda and seat often beat VW in the quality surveys in europe.skoda and seat cars are much more prevailent in europe than vw's on the road.go to the european quality surveys on the net and check for yourself!!

this mark is not some cheap korean rip off.
its a VW(without the badge to weigh it down!!:D) with better quality and features and cheaper to boot!!!!

if I was in the market today, this would be the car I would be seriously looking at!

Last VW course i attended in the UK Milton Keynes main HQ had the Skoda Griffin sign up at the Wshop ( No vw sign to be seen) this was back in 92 ish sort of time ( showing the age a wee bit hey) by the way that was when factory course were seriously good. To be blunt the Bollocks!!! Bring back they days. There was a man there if any of you UK guys are watching called Wally Crow he was an absolute guru man. Fix anything.
