What is a 'thread prefix?'

As title states, trying to post in parts wanted... It says I need a thread pre fix but I have no idea what that is.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just above the textbox for the title of your thread there is a drop down menu for a prefix.
It designates a state or eoi/wanted to buy prefix for your thread so that people can work out if they want to click on it.

I.e. if i am in Brisbane and someone is wanting an air intake in perth then it's going to cost more than teh postage to send it to perth so i don't bother looking....
