Have been through the dashboard options with my Mk1 rebuild from recovered Mk1 dash to Mk2 GTI and now to Seat Cordoba (Mk 3). got it out of the Seat today and fitted it up inside the golf. Minimal sculpting required, and its the right width. What do you guys reckon?

Nothing connected yet, but heater will hook up and all electrics when I change the loom. I reckon I go with it and to hell with originality.

There's plenty of room in this world for unique cars.

I quite like it, but will probably end up using the little sporty non genuine one I have.

Did some cutting and trimming today (with a grinder). Nearly fits. Just want to sort all the heater connections before I bolt her in.

The instruments clip in like a Mk2, you could use the earlier cluster.

I`m gonna convert to electronic speedo and keep the clocks on the pic!

You'll need to remove a lot of material from the rear of the Polo 4/Ibiza/Cordoba 2 dash to get the height correct. Width and curvature are near perfect. In the front 1st, 3rd and 5th gears, your hand will be very close to the dash, though

Yup in the interests of getting my car on the road, I`m gonna use this Mk2 dash I have here and let Brenton take on the Cordoba Dash challenge. Project Golf mutates again. Its all good.

hi

spiffing up my mk1 a little, that's the reason for all the recent questions. Want to install new dash, do i have to stick with a mk 1 dash or is there another that looks good and can be installed with minimal fuss. Looking for something new, pics would be helpful.
cheers

Hey Sam
I'm in Adelaide too, my mk 1 has a mk2 dash in it but i bought it like that. The guy that had it kinda went all out so i have no idea how difficult that was. If you want you can have a look at it just to give you some ideas. Let me know

I have a few Mk2 Dashboards $300 each. One Cabrio one and one Mk2 Dash that has already been in a Mk1 and has the wiring matched up already. PM me if anyone wants some of these.

The ninja door handles that are shorter and will help with dash fit are BMW E30 (1985) They feel nice, are shorter and have the same splines and bolt. Happy New Year, something for free!
