The 2013 edition of the Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) customer satisfaction survey marks the 18th time it has been conducted by renowned U.S. market-research agency J.D. Power. More specifically, J.D. Power surveyed 83,000 American car buyers about the first 90 days with their 2013 model-year vehicles.

With 857 out of a possible 1,000 points, Audi scored 62 points higher than the industry average and advanced two places to second place overall among 33 manufacturers. In addition to the 1-2 victory among compact premium SUVs, many other Audi vehicles likewise triumphed. The A4/A5, A6, A8 and Q7 each captured second place in their respective categories.
