    Yesterdays Purchase - VR6 :)

    Hello everyone.

I have never owned a WV but couldn't let this opportunity slip.

my next door neighbour had this sitting for 9 months. I could see it slowly going to ruin.

Long story short I bought very very cheap it with the intention of saving it.

    The good:
    Clean body
    Clean interior
    Full service history
Big ticket items replaced.. (timing, ac, coilpacks etc)

    The bad:
Engine idles and revs rough and lumpy?
    Damaged left caliper. Leaks fluid
2 x electronic windows dont work
3 x central doors dont work
    small dent
    200,000kms
    very unclean

    Hope you like it

    Stephen

Awesome, all common & very easy issues to sort out. You should have her all cleaned up on no time.

love that charcoal, it won't be hard making it look a million bucks...

the roughness could be an ignition thing since it's through out the whole rev range; give it a service and go from there....

how is the caliper damaged? lol, might just need to nip up the line....

regulators are common and easy enough.

with the central locking, maybe the vacum lines have popped off? Can you hear the pump groan when you unlock the drivers door? (it's behind the rear drivers-side tail light)

200k is run in, haha, you'll get plenty more out of it and good to know the chains have been replaced

    Thanks for the comments.

    Im attached to it already.

More detail on the caliper. Well the pads were worn to the metal and the golf spat one out causing the break piston to dislocate past its seal point. I have put it back in and it holds pressure but I still may get them rebuilt.

Like I said I didn't pay much so accept the gremlins. Dont see how worn pads go with full service history though

very nice mate, when i originally bought mine way back when, i wanted that colour so bad but just couldn't find one, ended up opting for alpine white based on clean cars available at the time... a good service and the fact it has been sitting so long will prob solve your issues...
