    Engine number stamp or sticker

    Hi all.
I took delivery of a mk7 R yesterday and in SA they need to site the engine number actually on the engine.

Is there anything i should know so i dont get the run around.

    Is it easily located.

My mum is taking it and o dont want them to mess her around.

    Cheers

Stephen: hi. The engine number is physically located on the sticker on the upper toothed belt guard (see arrow on picture below). The engine number is also on the vehicle data sticker and on the crankcase above the gearbox.

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

    Thanks don.
Was inspected today and failed because the inspector took it upon him self to express his insecnificant view that the number didnt look right because it was ingraved... was the right number but in quotes "didn't look right " ... he then decided to report it to SAPOL.
Will i take this as far as possible. The answer is yes.
