Really needs to be scanned. Could be many things
Clutch generally has more to do with the flywheel/engine fitted than the gearbox itself. Chances of a TTRS one fitting are slim to none?
Need the number next to the fuse mate
Show a picture of the wire, which fuse it goes into etc and details on the car, then should be able to give you an idea where it goes. Most likely this will be your problem however.
Would require some investigation. Could be as simple as a fuse, or as involved as damaged wiring/connector/component.
Just up behind the air guides under there, you can track the loom back from the resistor block. Have it running while you are checking and shake the loom around abit to see if it cuts in & out.
Only fault i have seen a few times has been the fan wiring loom not being connected correctly. Been about three or so cars with it sitting loose, so occasionally fan would cut out and back in. Hard...
Supposed to have 1.9L of oil in it, they updated the capacity following a campaign that was carried out.
What would be the interest in rebuilt exchange long blocks with Wossner pistons & new timing chain/tensioner for $3000? :P
Wow sensor ain't cheap. I threw one away when i moved to Perth 6 months ago because no body wanted it. Had it up for $30...
Not worth the hassle mate, compressor is at most 5kg; condensor maybe another 2kg?
Go for a jog and take a decent dump before you go track, same same. :P
Lol don't believe everything on the internet, Essendon Skoda had a number one service CSI rating when i left. Workshop may have lost some of it's knowledge but the front office staff are still solid....
Not if you wanna do it properly, if all you are doing is pulling the few pipes out and a compressor you may as well leave it in. Condensor and evap need to be taken out also, one of which is a dash...
When getting small items like that VW is always best. Sensor is around the $50-100 mark and connecters and wires shouldn't have set you back more than $50?
Send me your old motors! :P I plan on doing an exchange service for a rebuilt long block with forged pistons
Bought a 10 year old car, with 200k+ km, and calls the car a lemon. Shouldn't you blame yourself for not checking it properly prior to buying?
New sensor, new connector and the three wiring pins. Put it altogether and fixed. Only other thing you will need is a diagram to see where the wires go, but you may be able to decipher it by looking...
I'm chasing a motor now so i can start doing an exchange turn around on these things. Still getting call about a motor i had advertised two years ago :P
Drop me your location and i can have a look if you like mate.
Car will still start with a cam fault, just takes abit longer as it goes away from being sequential ignition/injection. The only issue with warranty will be if they update the ECU, then tune will be...
Quite common and not a huge mission to do them. I usually recommend them when they weep as eventually the bearing lets go and they rattle like crazy while dumping more coolant.
Good to see more guys popping up lately, Perth is a wasteland compared to Melbourne for VAG :P
The common issue is the piston rings, however obviously you need to confirm it first or you will end up like Jwarnes, doing a full rebuild with no success. Bores on most modern/VAG engines can't be...
There is also hychill, which claims to be cooler. Can't really comment on it from experience but it does work. I'm up north and can always check pressures over if you wanna drop by.
