Found Krooz Automotive in Murrumbeena. They have pretty good reviews, so contacted them for a quote. Let's see what they come back with.
Thanks mate! They are a bit far (40 min drive) but might give them a go if there is nothing closer.
Hi all,
I have just sold my MY12.5 Polo GTI on Saturday, but we agreed that I will have it serviced before finalising the sale, and I obviously need to get the roadworthy certificate (RWC) done as...
Thanks for that! I have actually already applied plenty of felt and weatherseal tape, but the dash is still creaking regularly. I suppose you just gotta keep on taping :)
Bump
Anyone? :(
I know this is an old thread but I hope you guys can help me.
I have quite a few intermittent creaks coming from the dash when I drive over some (even minor) road irregularities - see my signature...
Ok, had a listen without music. At speeds around 60 they seem to be similar or even a bit quieter than the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx. Haven't checked at highway speeds yet though.
I know, my old Dunlops were nearing the end of their life and online reviews said their grip was pretty crap once they're worn a bit, so right now probably any tyre would impress me!
I will turn the music down next time and let you know ;)
Alright, got the S001's put in yesterday and loving them so far. So much more grip!
@Preen59: Thanks, but I want to stick to the original wheel dimensions (see OP) and these don't come in that size.
It turns out some customers at Jax had the S001's on backorder and didn't want...
Nice :)
Called Jax. They can do the Dunlops for $780 and the Bridgestones for $819 :o But after booking my car for the next day they called me again to tell me that they don't have the S001 in...
Will have a google then, no worries. Also enquired with Jax Quickfit (Bayswater North) through their website, let's see what prices they come back with!
You've been to Klagenfurt? Wow, normally...
Cheers, brad! I am from Klagenfurt, that's in the south - near Italy and Slovenia.
Alright, phoned a few places in Ringwood. All quotes include fitting and balancing of the new tyres and disposal...
Thanks, will definitely take a look at the S001 then, especially with that 3 + 1 free special :) Any idea what mileage your friends got out of them?
Sorry guys for the late response, and thanks for the input.
Would a touring tyre be good on a sporty GTI? I do want low wear but not at the expense of reasonably good grip. Looks like the Yokohama...
Hi guys,
It's time to buy my pocket rocket a new set of shoes, but since I don't know a lot about that rubbery goodness I thought I'll ask you guys for some advice :)
I only drive it around...
@bazzle: I had to remove most clips/tape holding any harnesses to the door for dynamatting, so after finishing, I reattached them with duct tape. They shouldn't be causing any rattles I hope. But...
I think I'll just buy some adhesive foam/window seal foam from Bunnings and work with that, let's see how that goes :)
Yeah I know what you mean. I had to do similar things with my previous car but I never managed to get rid of all the rattles... Can you recommend some good products/brands (i.e. for adhesive foam) to...
Nope, just added in the Dynamat. All screws etc went back in. I made sure to cut the Dynamat to size plus it is quite thin so it doesn't interfere with how the trim sits against the door.
The...
Hi guys,
I recently applied Dynamat to the inner and outer skin (covered at least 95%) of each of the 4 doors of my Polo GTI, yet the door trims still rattle with certain tracks at certain bass...
Big thanks to nomadx38! He verified that nothing is actually wrong and removed the error with his VCDS :)
Let's hope nodax38's VCDS can clear that code then :)
