Looks like you guys were right.
VW test the altenator and battery and said that both were fine, and sent me on my way. No replacement needed.
They did admit that it was strange though, and told me...

Booked it in to get a new...

Just got the battery tested at Battery World.
Printout they gave me shows:

Volts: 12.58V
Measured: 635 CCA
Rating: 600 CCA

They said that it should be up around 13.5 Volts... and not 12.58...

It was 13.30 Volts this morning (after charging overnight). Not very high... :facepalm:
Will test it again at lunch time and see if it has dropped much.

If I do need a new one though, is it...

Yup! That's what I thought too! So I'm not sure how it happened.

It's on the battery charger right now. Hopefully it'll be all good in the morning. :rolleyes:

My Golf Mk6 GTD wouldn't start this morning. :(

Last time I drove it was yesterday and had no problems. This morning, I'd turn the key and it would make a clicking sound and flash all the dash...

Fair enough. I'll probably keep my GTD for at least 10 yrs I reckon.

I just ordered Philips Crystal Vision (for low beam) and NOKYA USA H8 Artic White (for fog lights). :)
Guess I'm stuck with the high beam/DRL H15 OEM's for now...

Just sounds like I can hear the turbo fan spinning more than before, and the CAI sucking more air in. :cool:

Got mine installed in my MK6 GTD yesterday. I can definately hear more turbo spool when accelerating, and there is less turbo lag. The sound of accelerating for the first 10 mins or so is a bit...

Ah right! Thanks for letting me know. I thought it might have been to do with the ejector seats... :eek:

Does anyone know what this button does? It's on the column near the drivers door on my GTD. Can't see anything in the manual about it. Perhaps I didn't look hard enough..

I got my Golf Mk6 with a Towbar, but don't intend to tow anything right away. It's handy to have it as an option though.

They sold me the Red one same price as signed, yes, but it's still base model (just different colour and seat cloth to what I ordered), so it's the same price I guess (since it's not metallic paint...

Got my GTD yesterday. It's awesome! Sure a pleasure to drive.

What was very funny though, was that I ordered it in Candy White with Black Cloth seats, which they told me would arrive in 8 - 9...

12 days total from Brisbane to Townsville. Arrived on the 8th and I'm picking it up on the 20th. :)

Pick up my GTD tomorrow! Can't wait! :)
