The answer to my own question is no it doesn't have a replaceable filter. (At least not on the 2009 model)

Does the R36 Haldex Coupling have a replaceable oil filter like the R32 golf?

In my case the dealer put in a "Goodwill" claim to VW. I didn't request this so not sure whether it was due to the relatively low kms of the car. VW's response was apparently a 50/50...

I ended up taking the car to the dealer before Christmas and they were unable to fix on the day. They put the problem down to a faulty park brake control module which they didn't have in stock.

Picked up a new switch and installed this morning but problem remains.

Not sure if problem is gone but need to reset the error.

I have though about this issue a bit more. The problem doesn't happen every time. I'll have to be a bit more observant as my wife also drives the car and she uses memory position 2 whereas I use...

My R36 does this quite often. As far as I can recall only when I first back out of my driveway in the morning. I have to manually re-adjust it as I'm driving up the street. Bloody annoying!!!

Had a similar problem on my R36. Had to have a switch associated with the park brake replaced under warranty. Apparently a common problem.
