We do have nice beaches up here though.
If you decide to go for the original one, if you find one at the wrecker they can give you the box as well. I got one for about $500, and installed myself....

I don't think you need to code the module itself, it's the other modules that needs to know there's a towbar module there and adjust appropriately. Am in QLD, so can't help with the coding itself,...
You need to toggle some bits using vag com. See post #275.
This sounds just like my issue, which has been described as prop shaft back lash by the VW mechanic; Tiguan mk2 DSG "clunk" - YouTube
So I've been told this is "normal operation of propshaft back lash".
Any comments?
Yes VW dealer. There's also quite a bit of jerk in the car when this happen. It's not isolated to only when reversing on a slight incline, it's just the easiest way to demonstrate.

I have this GST "clunk" in my MY2018 Tiguan Mk2 with 60K kms on the clock;

Going to the mechanic tomorrow. Any ideas if it's the clutch, mechatronic or something...
Just a follow up, I got the guide lines back by changing the coding of the RVC module. The 'new' module had a bit set for trailer towbar installed, which will turn off the guide lines.
Can you post a picture of the instructions? Most likely the wiring installation includes only plugging it into a cable already placed in the left side of your trunk and do the small wire under the...
I was wondering how much a freight forwarder would charge for that package if bought from a us VW dealer. Edit: found the shipping weight to be 34lbs ~= 17kg.
Still wondering if getting the...
Ok, sounds a bit tricky to find the dealer with a sale on (assuming this was through parts.vw.com?).
I think maybe the easier option will be to go for one of their other dsp+amp combos, like this...
Sorry, I was a bit un-precise. What price did you get your helix sub+amp+harness for? I assume it was more than $200?
What price are you getting ordering it from the us? I tried ordering by my local dealer and they say it's no longer available.
I asked my dealer today about the helix system, and it's apparently no longer available. Where did you get yours?
I did it with my old one, which is the micro-CAN UC with USB. Am planning on upgrading though.

If you get one with the same model number, it will probably work just by plugging it in, but possibly without lines until calibrated.
I managed to source a 3c9 part fairly cheap from Norway(!) in the end. The guide lines comes on briefly before they disappears, and I haven't been into vagcom yet, but assume it needs calibration...
Am I correct in understanding that the only required hardware to do this is the front bumper camera, side mirrors with embedded cameras and harness for these? There's no additional control module...
Do you have a picture of the cutout?
Ok, understood. Do you think a 3c0 part will work, from the pre B7 cars? Looks like there's a lot more 3c0 parts than 3c9 parts available.
Yes it's 50mm on the VW towbar. I'm using one of these with mine; 500 - An error occurred
Yes I tried changing the coding to 0020007 for passat, but it won't accept it, giving error 31: out of range.
I've seen quite a few people having issues coding the j772 module, so I guess it might need something else than vag-com?
