Yes their exhaust system are different. Most notable one is the back box. Its one large box which probably has been tuned to produce specific sound. The centre resonator whilst looks the same on the...
I reckon dump pipe and aftermarket reso is sufficient for noise improvement. Someone did that over in SkodaModders group, sounded considerable more aggressive yet still civilized.
Keep in mind...
Most of the exhaust shop around my area does not carry stainless wrap resonator, they all carry what they call 'Glass Pack'. From the outside they look identical, difference being one has a stainless...
Definitely DSG farts on up change, the more throttle applied the louder it gets.
I can hear some pop and crackles lately on over run only when the engine is cold though.
I believe I might be one of the first doing the mod. From my research, it seems that Vibrant muffler produce a 'brighter' sound compare to say a Magnaflow one.
Here's a video of my car with the...
Remember to allow the resonator to settle, the tone will get deeper overtime.
Also, depending on how the setup on the exhaust pipe on the facelifted RS, it's worth getting a flange done for...
Look smashing! I can give you an assurance that the RS is a much better car to drive compare to a Merc C250 (I have the sedan version). The RS is such an unbelievably good value of a car (compare to...
Pretty sure it's illegal to have one fitted. There is a potential wheel bearing issue (they are not the greatest in our car) when fitting a spacer. Vibration can also occur but can be negated with...
The closest thing you can get in Australia is either a Golf R Wagon or Skoda Superb 206TSI Sportline.
I know they did a Diesel AWD RS, not sure if it ever comes to Australia though.

Replacing the centre resonator with either a straight pipe or smaller stainless steel wrap core resonator will liberate extra noise.
Keep in mind that our car has minimum amount of sound...
Do you know if the hot dog has stainless wrapping inside? The glass pack reso sounded really good, nice and deep but only lasted six months in my case, it sounded really bad when all the fiberglass...
Seems fairly common, I replaced mine quite early but it may had something to do with some rock on the road. Having said that, I shredded a tyre on the way to Sydney thanks to a rather large pothole...
Apparently wheel bearing issue is quite common for our car. I had one of my wheel bearing replaced very early, around 25000 KM, although a largish rock on the freeway might caused the failure ....
Cheers for that.
Yes the car is still under warranty, until 2019.
I always use 98 Octane ever since new and always use the same service station.
The car is due for service in 2 weeks...
I have experienced this intermittent strange double, sometimes triple clicking/rattling noise from what I think is the Turbo.
Usually happen during highway cruising, put the foot down to overtake...
The telltale sign of it being a roo skin is very thin, quite stiff and resistant to stretching. They wouldn't use anything else for something that thin, normal leather will just stretch and rip if...
They usually use kangaroo leather for the shifter boot (skirt) due to its durability and property (very thin). My previous VW Tiguan has a roo skin as well as my C-class, seems like mk2 also used...
Bi-cast leather's surface is held together by glue and the sweat plus oil from our body is quite good at breaking down the sticky stuff. You will need that glove
Probably Skoda just cutting cost here and there. With today's technicality know how, they can make cheap leather (bi-cast) look and feel as nice as the more expensive one (full grain) until it...
Mine is quite worn out, I suspect it's all from my wife's twitchy left hand . The leather is pretty low quality, not a full grain hence once the surface is worn it doesn't 'heal' back.
According to the brochure only the RS TDI is equipped with a wet clutch DSG, am I reading it wrong?
Did you keep the stock pipe diameter or enlarged it to 3 inch?
Stuffed the boot with 120Kg speakers :D

Wasn't sure they were going to fit when the forklift driver drop the pallet behind the car, little bit of wiggling later fit just fine with room to...
