An update if interested. The EGR valve was available, without the the cooler. So instead of a VW dealer wanting to charge around $3500 to $4000, the cost was $1200 through a European car...

Just found out that the egr valve might replaceable instead the whole cooler and valve. About 1/3 the cost. Have booked it in next week. Hopefully all will be good.

Another quick one, if a delete kits is installed - how does that go with insurance and engine mods?? Probably not well I assume!!

So the delete kit completely blocks off the egr system? Does this have any benefit to the performance or is it something the engine can live without?

I don' know too much about the egr system other than it's to do with returning the exhaust back into the turbo..doesn't it?

Yeah, bi turbo.

Nah, all the time. Feels like you hit a wall at lower speeds. Particularly bad in and around traffic.

already solved a problem. Suspected blown fuse in lighter socket, found fuse box locations and fuse numbers. Culprit removed and will buy new one tomorrow.
