Well i had a look at the front spoiler bumper today and it is beyond repair so have taken it off. Managed to get the part number 6r0805903c from the bumper but its quite difficult to get in the UK so...
I have tried many times to refit the under spoiler but I think the actual clips themselves are worn. Basically I just need the part number or something so I can contact VW or a parts specialist to...
Hi all,
I am looking for the rubber stip in the image below as mine is starting to fall of and I have tried fixing it a few times already. Haven't had much luck so far trying to find it....
Wow, not bad. Just over 4000 miles. Is that short, long or mix journeys?
Since my service in January which consisted of Liqi Moly 5w30 I have done 442 miles (711km) and not a single drop used. So far so good
Sounds ok. Hope the useage stays low.
At your next oil change might be worth trying a different oil like Liqi Moly or a decent 5w40. Im using Shell Ultra Helix 5w40 at the mo and that seems to be lasting considering im doing short...
Same, the "fixes" definitely improve the consumption. What oil brand and viscosity you using as well?
Definitely worth checking at least once a month on a level surface just to make sure the new parts are doing their job. I have done just under 1500 miles (2414km) and the dip stick has the slightist...
I would ask if an oil consumption test could be done just to make sure.
Is the car still under warranty?
So about 300 miles then?
Could be due to a fresh oil change as they can sometimes use a bit more oil after a service. Hopefully it will improve.
Did it help in reducing the consumption or did it have no affect?
I have been looking into both the 5w30 and 5w40 oil for my next service but can't decide which
Anyone here ever tried or use Liqui Molly 4200 5w30? Heard its a good oil and reduces consumption
Sorry to hear that. They should be offering you one of the newer 1.8T GTI models for all the trouble it has caused.
I don't actually have a bluetooth radio system, this is something that was added before I owned the car so that it could support bluetooth.
This image is more acurate to what I have installed:

Hi all,
My 6R GTI has a bluetooth kit installed simular to the below image but installed on the dash near the drivers seat window:

Sounds interesting.
How would you know if the car is doing detonation/pinging? I have noticed that when I start the car for the first time the next day it vibrates a bit, feels like the engine is...
Has there been a case where this is proven? I wouldn't mind getting my GTI remapped if it would help, mainly to help with the fuel mixture.
I have had the oil jets and breather pipes installed and...
Finally had the breather pipe and oil jets done under warranty. I took the car in at 510 miles instead of the 621 (1000km) as i was getting worried about the car and the way it was behaving. Level...
Managed to get to just over 300 miles (483km) in just under a month. Nearly half way! :)
Mine is in for the "do 621 miles and come back" test now. Seeing as I sometimes only do 50 miles in a week its going to be a while! lol.
When I spoke to the guy at the dealer he said that they had...
Good too know. I think in the UK it is called Shell Helix Ultra ECT.
No problem. Will have a look.
How easy is it to do a oil change on these? Is it just like any other by finding the sump plug and draining the oil.
I was thinking because I haven't had the car that long and the previous owner probably used oil from VW and it has been 6 months or more since the last service I would do an oil change.
Would this...
