Simple removal of the old one and even easier to install the new one. I never realised how stuffed the old was for so long after installing the new.. Great service and price from Supercheap.
Actually stopped by Supercheap Auto this afternoon and they placed an order for a Monroe replacement for me. $50.98. Not too bad.
So the gas strut under the bonnet has packed it in. Before replacing with OEM (not too expensive, about $55usd) is there a better aftermarket replacement that can be sourced locally? Anyone else...
Spent a bit more time on this today.. Particularly focusing on the charcoal canister.
The venting noise in the video in the above post is coming from the pressure retention valve which connects...
Was watching the news and saw an article about a woman that parked her blue Holden Cruze on top of a white R36.. A real shame, I hope it didn’t belong to anyone here.
Are you the owner?

Mine can take up to 10 minutes of driving to finally start blowing cool air. Check out the compressor on the car, mine is a Sanden PXE16 and the control valve is faulty so there is a good chance that...
I’m not too sure on the stuttering but what is wrong with your AC compressor? There is a very common issue with the compressor control valve that is easily fixed by purchasing that part separately...
Sort of. I definitely think it’s an evap or tank venting issue based on all my situational testing.
Plenty of warm days, I’ve left the fuel filler cap loose so it doesn’t create a seal and the car...
Does the tank breath through the fuel filler cap?

Correct, but you need to find the right fuse locations to tap. You’ll definitely need a multimeter or test light. Happy to offer assistance if you require.

Mine fires up if I pump the accelerator too, but unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) I’m not the kind of person that can just live with an issue like this. No I didn’t do...
I’m also going to test resistance across all of the sensors also, do you happen to have a service/workshop/repair manual or know where I might get my hands on one?
Nope. Car doesn’t seem any different to when I first got it.
I’m pulling the intake off on Thursday to check for carbon build up. Failing that, I guess I’ll be checking for gummed up fuel lines....
Oh thanks for the help too mate. I’ll keep searching.

Surely the OP is getting email notifications about all this action that his thread is getting.......

I assume the 3490 is the software version? My throttle body was cleaned the first time it was taken in for the issue but didn’t help. I was also suspecting carbon build up in the intake but I haven’t...
And my issue is hot/cold start issues if sitting in the sun and it’s hot outside.. Sort of 28-29 degrees ambient temperature or above

I realise it doesn’t matter which way around they are, except for appeasing my OCD tendencies.....
We’ve discussed the different installation methods before and this is the way I preferred to do...
I just realised those fuses aren’t all in the same way.. How annoying.
Must’ve taken this before I first removed the fuses........
As Hillbilly said, not really. It seems that there isn’t really a standard that VW followed but depends on options I guess. I installed mine a little differently by creating brand new circuits to the...
