Hi all,
I can't post this in the appropriate forum as I havn't been on here for long enough, but it's with great regret that I'm putting my 1997 VR6 up for sale.
I don't want to do this, but a...
Thankyou!

This rustles my Jimmies.

Yeah man I can imagine, you don't get much pull until about 3500 rpm anyhow, the only real downfall to an otherwise fantastic motor. I'll definitely look into it.

Ahaha ****in hell, that's almost as bad as my mates Teggy with JDM 6 speed, he's doing about 4k.

2900 at 110. Averages around 9l/100km's.
5th pulls hard, it's the lower gears, mainly 1st and 2nd, that need to be shorter.

These feels. The stock gearing is dreadful...probably a fuel economy gimmick.
The relative lack of low down torque doesn't help either!

Is it just me or does anyone else sometimes wish for shorter gears in their VR6?

Ah man I'd buy this in a heartbeat if I had the money.

It's generally not a good idea to run a car that low on account of the injectors accumulating residue from the bottom of the tank. But I feel you, mk3 clusters are temperamental to say the least.
...
Yeah I can't imagine it having too many issues aside from the head and rust, and maybe the injectors/pump. They're hardy little buggers from what I've read and seen. Much easier to work on compared...
Ah okay, didn't know that, the more you know!
Yeah may as well, it's more of a matter of distance (I'm over 7 hours away) and availability of cash right now, as I'm attending to some suspension...
I don't know if it's still available mate, he had it up on Gumtree as well but he's since taken it down. Wouldn't be surprised, it's been for sale for a while and it's in good condition.

Saw this on Carsales, wish I could afford it, she's beautiful.

Thanks mate, appreciate it muchly.

Hi mate,
I'm planning to keep it stock as the standard power plant is reliable, simple to work on and relatively easy to source parts for. It's slow as buggery I'm sure (my grandfather's 1983...
G'day everyone,
I'm Jimmy, currently own a mk3 97' VR6 12v and love it.
But I'm considering buying a second car as a project and I've decided on a Mk1 diesel, given their relative simplicity...
Problem is now I'm crazy skittish because every rattle or otherwise coming from the car itself makes me bend over backwards lol.

The DIY timing chain guide? You'd be right! Ahahahahah. I pretty much memorised that when I was looking at replacing my chains because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing or what I was looking...
Hahahah, only because I nearly **** myself when I first found out the VR6 was an interference engine.

There are two versions of the setup. The early version used a double-row chain, a two-piece tensioner rail (phenolic plate riveted to a metal backing) and a tensioner bolt that relies solely on oil...
Hi mate, sorry to be a bit rude and not contribute, but where did you get your Remus system from? Looking at one for my 97' VR6.
