    Some sad news/good news.

Something small and reliable and boring. I'll definitely look into another Dub in the future but at the moment I need something fuel efficient, simple - that I won't be working on every 5 seconds....

    Some sad news/good news.

    Hi all,

I can't post this in the appropriate forum as I havn't been on here for long enough, but it's with great regret that I'm putting my 1997 VR6 up for sale.

I don't want to do this, but a...

Yeah man I can imagine, you don't get much pull until about 3500 rpm anyhow, the only real downfall to an otherwise fantastic motor. I'll definitely look into it.

    Long gearing?

    2900 at 110. Averages around 9l/100km's.

5th pulls hard, it's the lower gears, mainly 1st and 2nd, that need to be shorter.

These feels. The stock gearing is dreadful...probably a fuel economy gimmick.
The relative lack of low down torque doesn't help either!

    Long gearing?

Is it just me or does anyone else sometimes wish for shorter gears in their VR6?

It's generally not a good idea to run a car that low on account of the injectors accumulating residue from the bottom of the tank. But I feel you, mk3 clusters are temperamental to say the least.

GLD issues/things to look out for.

    G'day everyone,

But I'm considering buying a second car as a project and I've decided on a Mk1 diesel, given their relative simplicity...

OBDI VS OBDII Timing chain differences.

There are two versions of the setup. The early version used a double-row chain, a two-piece tensioner rail (phenolic plate riveted to a metal backing) and a tensioner bolt that relies solely on oil...
