Any way to tell if it is or isn’t working properly without just replacing it?
Hi all,
firstly, I did a search and couldn’t find anything with the same info as what I’m about to ask, but please someone correct me if I’m wrong.
I’m sorting a few issues on my VW Bora 4mo so...
Is anyone getting rid of a 4mo stock exhaust? I need a replacement one to pass a roadworthy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
It's been a while, but the more I think about it, the more I want to get it sorted myself.
Anyone on here have a link to a repair manual, or have any personal advice with these?
It seems like its...
Just thought I'd post this here out of interest. Will have a for sale post up over the weekend.
Message for any info needed.
Wont need much to get back on the road.

Any chance your stock down pipes are in good shape/willing to split those?
Still needed?
So, it's a little bit better, but not perfect. It idles fine, then will sit back (and only run rough) at 750rpm.
Any throttle input improves it greatly.

Back into it today, replaced two sections of vacuum hose. One piece had something in it. If this doesn't fix it, I guess it's new carby time.
Surely that would take some of the noise out too.
the only reason it's at 2.5" now is that's stock sizing (albeit with a hell of a lot more restriction).
It's been a little while since I've posted about the bora, but she's sitting on roughly 190,000km, and is running beautifully.
Ive had her parked in my driveway for about a month with no rego, but...
Was about to turn you down, but a tow bar could be handy to carry bikes with (plus I work for a Thule dealership).
Any modifications needed to get it on?
That was actually the first thing to get replaced as the old hose was pretty well ruined.
I have not however, checked over the other vacuum hoses, nor done any gaskets or seals.
I actually need to...
I might take you up on that offer. I'm out of town for a few weeks, but I'll pm you some photos etc when I get back and we can sort it out.
Thanks!
All part of the fun of it!
Had a go just before. Seems like the car is running a bit smoother now (just by chance), but it's still a bit lumpy.
It seems to be when you spray down the throat of the carby. I don't quite...
I guess that's the next step. All has to wait until Monday.
Thanks for the offer. Will let you know if I do.
Update: tightened the low limit screw on the carby, bringing the revs up a little (probably only a quarter turn, but still only ~800rpm idle), and gave the carby a quick squirt with carby cleaner....
Thanks!
Will have another look at it when I get a chance.
I did do a few vacuum hoses not that long ago, but not all.
Will post back with some more progress soon.
So, bit of a gap in posting, but I have been doing a little bit of work, and I'm hoping to get the little beast on the road when I get back from a trip to NZ.
So far I have straightened the front...
Hi,
I know this has probably been covered before, but I have a 1995 model Seat Ibiza 1.4, which I have been slowly tidying up to use as a daily driver.
With the chance of modding my Bora slowly...
Anyone know if these roof racks will fit a Seat Ibiza 6k (considering same family/generation and all)?
PMed and texted before the weekend. I'll come pick it up!
Thanks!
Slow process, but I will shout out if I need anything!
