Ok sorry for the kind of weird 1st thread. The 'shimmy' to me is not related to the current issues with the car that I was trying to diagnose.
Seems like just before you come to a stop the brakes...
Wife's 2009 MK6 103 TDI Golf (6sp DSG)
She reports a few clunks lately - I have not experienced any when I drive it but she drives it a lot more.
I've been meaning to get the DSG service done...
This sounds bad. Are you sure it's not detonation (pinging)? This is exactly what it sounds like. Like balls being shaken in a can. If that's what it is the engine may not last much longer if it...
Are you sure the fuse was in the water pump?
Got to agree on the tyre front, at around 25,000 the TDI started being a bit noisy (wocka wocka wocka noise from front left at low-med speeds). At 30k service the wheel bearings were ok according to...
Isn't Tiptronic a Porsche term? No VW has a Tiptronic AFAIK.
30k service for me (103TDI) was usual oil and filter, windscreen fluid additive stuff, cabin air filter change, brake fluid flush and change. Radiator fluid should not need to be done at 30k.
My 103TDI does it as well...
Front CV/shaft at the stealership is around $1200 (that's what the LH front one on mine was quoted to cost when I had my 4MO)
Long story, dropped it to dealer to check what the noise was and...
So just to clarify, ONLY dealers get or are allowed to do software updates?
The release actually says ".. while breaking and down-shifting..."
Oh dear, not proof read very well...
Unless the 'breaking' part refers to some TSI engines exploding:)
FWIW, I use an old picnic rug in the back. Can do double-duty when you get somewhere and need a rug...
Make sure you have another weekend car for when the Golf's in getting a replacement motor...
Has anyone had any experience with or installed one of these?
Road Emperor Volkswagen Edition - In Dash Car DVD With 3G Internet (WIFI, 2DIN, GPS, DVB-T)
Isn't that the whole idea of it being an 'Alternate' display?
Man I did not think the mirror down stuff worked in Aussie MK VI's ? I am going to have to re-visit this one
Yeah, Karrinyup BP is on that list too, they have had no Ultimate diesel for the past 6 months in my experience, still "Unavailable"
Had the oil changed at about 8000km (6 months from new) just the other week at the 1st service.
I reckon now there is less black 'crap' on the back of the car now after the change.
Dunno if i'm...
I reckon for some reason the back wheels are tending to get black spots on them (like rust spots) more often than the front. Dunno, just noticed that on the weekend (Detroits also).
Maybe the rear...
This is extremely strange to say the least.
They should talk to the dealer just 10 km or so north of them, run by the same overall dealer conglomerate if I'm not mistaken.
That dealer says you DO...
I think hitting auto causes the A/C light to come on and stay on even when the temp is changed (does not mean the A/C compressor is running it just means it can) if you hit the A/C button it will...
Sounds more like an issue with the actual radio station than the unit. RDS may be unavailable on that station for some reason.
Yeah worth checking the roof rack - fyi my 103TDI MK IV is dead quiet at that kind of speed - except for tyre noise IMO!
I had a Mazda once with factory roof rack / rails - I had to remove them...
Agree to previous posts about dealers you rejected during the pre-buying phase.
Visited one particular Perth dealer and had pretty poor dealings with them (and a laughable trade-in offer)
The...
