Hi all, 90TSI manual. Driving around Brisbane in the rain today. Just driving along and the ABS/ESP fault lights come on.
No big puddles, pot holes etc, on the motorway when they come on.
What are...
Yes I did open it up...curiosity got me.
Looked like one of the contacts had some corrosion/burn on it.
Update. Replaced the ECM relay and problem solved. Thanks for the advice
I believe it has one, how would I check if the relay is stuffed?
Scanned and the only error was "Lost communication with the ECM"
Update. Had the Fuse panel under the hood replaced as it was believe that the "pull the fuse and it starts" was an issue with the...
Hi, I have a 2010 90TSI manual. It has trouble starting.
Cranks over, won't fire.
Pull the ECM fuse (13 from memory), replace with the same fuse, fires first time.
Any clues?
I have a 2101 90TSI Manual. Has been faultless since new. Regular services but that's all. Mine has the comfort pack which included alloys, climate control, auto wipers, lights leather steering wheel...
I have an electric brake controller fitted to another vehicle. You'll need a power supply from the battery and a brake signal usually taken from the brake pedal switch. You will also need to look at...
Not a GTI but I've had mine since new. Only issue is the radio switches itself on and off constantly...other than that, perfect.
Hi all, my manual gear lever has started squeaking when changing gears. It sounds like it is coming from just under the leather boot so i'm assuming there is a pivot under there. Question is how do...
Hi everyone.
Apologies if this has been covered before, did a quick check and couldn't find the answers :)
The battery on my 2010 golf is starting to struggle when starting on these cold mornings....
Thanks for the info. It is pretty much what we thought. I have a MKVI Golf and I doubt the air con would be enough to cool the entire area.
We intend to transport dogs in the back and they really...
Hi everyone.
I am considering buying a used Caddy Maxi Crewvan (5 seater) and was just wondering if anyone had one and what the air con was like in them.
We will have someone on the back seats and...
Thanks for the replies. If it was the ignition switch, could it effect anything else? The radio is a nuisance but I wouldn't want it to switch the ignition off while driving on the M1.
Ignition switch....that sounds just super :(
Think I might put up with it until it really bugs me then get the car scanned and see what it pulls up.
Do they need recoding and how difficult are they to change?
Hi everyone, It's been a while since I posted as the Golf has been faultless.
Just the other week, the RCD310 unit seems to randomly switch off. Turn it on, plays for seconds or could be half an...
Thanks everyone for your replies. It is good to get feedback from actual owners rather than all of the reviews and opinions from people who have never actually driven one.
Hi everyone,
My wife and i are looking at purchasing either a late model used or new (depending on finances) T5 Crewvan.
Although we both prefer a manual gearbox, it seems many (most) used...
Hi. I believe Penrite have recently released a coolant that is VW G12+ approved.
I have a dashmat on my Golf. It is great for not only protecting the dash from the sun but also eliminates any glare or reflection off the dash. Mine fits perfectly and is held inplace by gravity. No...
I have just got back from a work trip in my 90TSI. 500km round trip from Brisbane, up the Toowoomba Range, out to Dalby and back.
Average fuel consumption for the trip 5.1L/100km.....that's almost...
Hi, I have a 90TSI manual. Almost 3 years old, 35000km, never missed a beat. No issues, no leaks, no squeaks. Best car i have owned. They don't suffer from the issues the 118TSI does.
There is also a silver MK5 speed camera
