i'll stick to my grandma gear changes then and i'll not have to change the clutch for 7 yrs :)
im on 65000 kms and still have the factory clutch in my 2006 gti, with no sign of it going any time soon.

in my gti its the control arm bushes that make these noises with almost exactly the same symptoms. Ive yet to change them on account of sever slackness.
