So Does the R have a plastic wind buffeting thing that pops up when the roof is open?

Or just don't get a sun roof and save yourself money and annoyances, they are for posers anyway to a degree.
+1
Cars that are more linear will feel more boring (less slower) to drive.. Bit like the R with it's linear power delivery.
Sounds like BMW got it right - they are more expensive cars than a Golf so you'd expect there to be no buffeting. (The sunroof on an R wouldn't be any different to the base model Golfs).
The...
Maybe for the first 20-30m :P. What feels/sounds fast isn't always.
Anyway i can't see myself ever buying a Holden Commondore so doesn't really matter, VW's are good.
^12.8 L/km, Almost as good as 16L/100 for the R32 :P
My APR GTI got down to 6.3L/100 on a highway run once.
A bigger turbo fixes it apparently ;).
No car is perfect as I said. I'd prefer the general build quality and more rigid chassis and traction ability of the MK6, but that's just me. The DSG and engine is very crisp, and the MK5 rattles...
They are all great cars, it's not a contest. I love them all can't you leave it at that?
(I also don't think the Golf R is that much better either for the extra spend, and is basically similar to...
Hook line and sinker.
You need a new hobby mate, besides MK6 hating. The Pirelli is hardly perfect, worse than the Golf R.
Forums are good at bringing out the best in people like you, just...
Well it's just one opinion (ar$ehole) so doesn't matter. How can someone tell everybody that something isn't fun or good.. it's all a subjective and the forums can be a w@nk.
The MKV had enough rattles from the interior and centre air vent console, I wouldn't worry about that (unless you are a MK6 hater when you find out a new model has de-valued your car).
That's fairly quick, is that manual or DSG?
LOL at this thread. The more you are worried about the smallest noise the more it plays on your mind. With a retune you'll be listening to the turbo and other goodness. Sell it if you aren't happy...
The more you pay the more you are annoyed if it's not perfect ;).
Tuesday bump!
High quality amps that pack a lot of punch for their compact size. Can fit two of these under the passenger seat of a Golf/Passat.
Hi guys,
I have the following gear for sale. They have been in storage since selling my R32, and was planning to keep them but won't be installing any time in the near future unfortunately.

Yeah stage 1 is the best increase/bang for buck but with the GTI i'd probably get a downpipe and stage 2 tune as well as it's a fairly simple upgrade. The tune upgrade is free if you get an APR...
Numbers seem a bit low for the amount of mods considering a MK6 GTI can get 170kW just with an exhaust (and intake). It is always hard to compare dynos but the last few days have been quite cool...
..or bang for buck diminishes..
The R should be better for the extra 10k..
The more you spend the more you get like with most things.
Luckily the MKIV's aren't a limited run or anything :).
I think everthing was probably covered about ten times in the previous pages..
The GTI is better
Enjoy.
Cool Steve, have you bought an RNS510 yet or still stuffing around with Chinese knock offs?
