It's the same. If you want to actually remove them completely. when you pop them up pull them forward and you'll see two metal bars just hooking them to the body - push on them to release them from...
I love the GTI steering wheel. It fits so comfortably in my hands. It can take pretty much all the credit for fixing my hand placement too, I had some pretty bad habits before.
Small thing, but...
I love my little Polo to bits and have been lucky enough to avoid the problems a lot of people on here have - only warranty issue to come up so far is that my glovebox doesn't close properly :P

Yup - no problems here. You can sit the adaptor part up on the bracket for the actuator so even if water gets in there it won't be sitting in it - just moisture to worry about, but that hasn't caused...
I've got a bottle of water in there in my car.
Just for the sake of keeping with the theme of the thread, let's say it's so that I have something to drink on the walk to buy more oil.
Sorry for the OT comment, just wanted to say that the typo in the subject of this thread makes me happy every time I load the forum. :-)
Just did a 2300km round trip a fortnight ago. RPM seemed to hover around 2400 or so when cruising at 110 in 7th.
I'll be in Sydney on Sunday if nobody else steps up. Will bring my VCDS cable and laptop. PM me tomorrow arvo/evening to make sure I didn't forget and we'll work out where to meet.
Aw, I'll be driving in to Sydney Saturday morning for the AFL (and the show) and should be getting to Olympic Park around 1-2pm. Just miss out!
I have the "GTI" button from carstyle4you sitting around waiting for me to do it. Only thing holding me back is lack of time, and a bit of reluctance to poke through the firewall (which you have to...
Today I had my 15000km service (got the DSG software update, everything else was normal) and yesterday I got 4 new shoes - Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5's. Not the best out there, but they're...
You are correct. If your car is functioning as intended but you don't like the noise the actuator makes, go ahead and disconnect it.
Gavs was referring to a fault a few GTI's seem to have where...
For me the clincher (other than price) was that the Polo is a less serious car. For some people I guess that would be a con?
Exclusivity I guess? Doesn't really bother me either way, but there are...
Do you mean it starts rolling backwards? I have the Hill Start Assist not kick in every now and then - I'm usually just cautious when I take off, and it's not enough of an issue for me to contact the...
I think that's where the resonator that the actuator controls is located... I guess it's pretty possible for that thing to be faulty. Is that what they replaced for you gavs?
I didn't have any dash rattle; removing mine was just to get rid of the growly noise because I'd rather have the car quiet when cruising. Different strokes for different folks. :)
Well, yesterday I ticked over 10,000km (woo!)... and then popped a tyre on a pothole :(
So I get to spend the first bit of my long weekend putting the space saver on and getting the tyre replaced.
Probably depends on the insurer. When I had my rear window smashed (on an older car), I had to pay the excess but it didn't affect my no-claim. Makes sense - clearly you're not at fault for the...
Congrats on your new car! Hope you love it.
There have been a few discussions about break-in/run-in on this forum and the general consensus seems to be (which my experience supports) to get the...
Sydney-Canberra is uphill so you'll use a lot more. My car reported 5.2L/100km to Sydney(!) but took a hit coming home.
Just so you don't get too worried :)
Got back from Sydney yesterday. Unfortunately I wasn't there long enough to go for a drive, but that's definitely on the cards for next time.
From Shell in Phillip (Canberra) to Olympic Park and...
I love that it's quiet when cruising (without the actuator). Drove up to Sydney this afternoon and it was one of the most pleasant drives I've had in any car :)
Congrats! I hope you have a blast.
I really love how open and willing to share this community is. Anything you decide to do to the car, it's good to know there's people willing to help.
Thanks readerr0r. I was going to look that up again today but you saved me the trouble.
Also, I have to turn off the mic steering wheel button as well! It's like you're in my brain! :)
