    Justin's MkIV R32 Golf

    Long time coming perhaps?

Thought I would share with everyone as I just finished my last exam a few hours ago

Bought the car in August of 2009, from a lovely gentleman in Melbourne. Was advertised on ozvolks, and didn't make it to carsales.
Flew down to inspect. Flew back to buy it, and drive it back to Sydney.

Straight after the Melbourne to Sydney drive:

So when I bought her she had 59 xxx kms, and following list of items
    • APR ECU Tune
    • StaSiS (Koni) Coilovers
    • Carbonio carbon fibre CAI

    Stasis Coilovers:

Being a mechanic, I did my own work and maintenance.

Shark Fin antennae. Awful radio reception with standard OEM HU. Kenwood one fared much better

    Kenwood Head Unit

Defi Racer Gauge - Oil Temp, new south performance offset pod

Dynamat driver's door. Only Driver's door as I have not allocated anytime to it in more than a year I think.

    Adjustable RCA Gruvenparts:

Custom catback exhaust from the States. Not my preferred sound, but the performance increase was hard to ignore. So much so, I sold the old OEM one to Dylan

    Cold start:

    Rev and Blips

    Drive by:

    Part Throttle:

Painted the grille black. The horizontal slats look 90s. Honeycomb would be nice, buuut I am not made of money

    Removed the 'dingleberry'

The car went through 3 sets of suspension. Why?

Because, IMO the MkIV has too short of travel for the suspension:

I am now sort of content with the HPA SHS Coilovers.

    Bilstein PSS

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of whacking in the Recaro

A picture of the mounting bracket, sliders,

Seat base is flatter, more parallel to ground. So the lower thigh support isn't as snug. the height is pretty much the same as previously in the Konigs (I had them set low anyway).
The new mounting system is tighter and firmer than the OEM setup. The OEM system had play and made noises and exhibited minute movements.
The seat reclines with the dial/rotator. But does not feature the same retracting mechanism of the OEM seat (recline forward and slide forward). May be a bit of a compromise for some, but I am not overly bothered. (YET)
Have issues with airbag light coming on after the resistor worked loose (i think) while driving. Can't seem to clear the code a this stage.

Overall I am very happy with the upgrade (?).
There is more support for my upper body, the bolsters are easier to moneauver over and easier to pass through.
Fabric doesn't look or feel as good as leather. but im over leather. wrinkling, squeaks and sweaty backs and butt when the temps go over 23.5C

Also had discs and pads put in. Had dramas with the pedal feel and after hundreds of dollars in brake fluid, hours of my own labour as well as European Autotech (when I ran out of ideas), it went to the track with a different pedal feel. There was brake fade, but pedal was not bad. defintely not the bite I am used to ALL the other times.

DISCS: Adams Rotors - Slotted and dimpled
    Pads: Akebono ceramic compound

The rear discs are Tommy R32's.

And a recent shot of my car at work on a Friday.

No pics, but raised the negative camber at the back with the gruvenparts adjustable control arms (http://gruvenparts.com/website/imgs/fullsize/107.jpg)
Also washed the car in the rain before a full day cruise on the 27th. Pics here: https://picasaweb.google.com/dainese...eat=directlink
