What did you do to your Tiguan today?

OK after a discussion with another forum member we decided the Tiguan forum really needed a "What did you do to your car" thread.

This is the place to post up everything related to your car that doesn't belong in other threads or where you don't want to create special thread on its own. It can be washing, waxing, servicing, small mods, big mods, tuning, new exhausts, new turbo, paint correction and can even be places that you've been to (parks, trails, etc). It's a good place to give other members a quick update with what you've been up to (if you have a problem or are wanting to engage in discussion on a technical topic it's best to start a separate thread).

So please post up what you've been doing to your Tig - let the discussions begin!

Great idea Damien! About time too!!

So after a shopping trip to Sydney yesterday, i checked the car this morning to find 2 new door dings... Yay, that's about 8 now since leaving Melbourne 2 1/2 years ago.

Instead of further paintless dent removal repairs, i put the money towards the side protection moldings. Undecided on whether to have them painted or not, if they match the lower plastics, i might just leave them as they are.

Yes I think it's long overdue. The Tiguan forum area has been pretty quiet recently but I'm sure there's people still doing stuff to their cars. This is a good place for those that are new to post up what they have been doing and also those that have been around for a while to post updates.

Sorry to her about the dents - unfortunately it's a fact of life with cars and car parks. I just had some dents taken out of my "other" car on Friday with the paint-less dent guys.

There was some discussion about the side strips/side steps and whether they were going to offer protection in the car park. I guess you can report back in another 2.5 years and let us know the outcome

did monthly routine checks (fluids, brakes, tyres, etc...) and found:

i never knew a sidewall is also a contact patch of the tyre!

Do your sidewalls have tread wear indicators? They look pretty bald.... must be time to replace.

My wife drove into the carport the other day and "bump parked" the car. You drive in, nudge the car in front and then back off a bit

I have a similar problem, however unfortunately there's less sidewall and more rim = 3 x curbed wheels in 2,000km

The other day I watched as my wife "bump parked" the car. She drove in, nudged the car in front and then back off a bit

I spent 5 hours on Saturday washing, clay barring and sealing my 10 day old Tiguan... only to go to the shops the next day and have some a-hole put a 30-40cm scratch in the right passenger door! It's not into the paint, but I my fingernail does catch it slightly and I haven't been able to buff it out. Soooo peeeved about it!

    Get some Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 - Meguiar's - SCRATCH X 2.0

I had my car keyed and although not perfect it's a lot better. You can only really pick it if you know where to look.

I tried turtle polish scratch and swirl remover which helped, but I think I need somthing more stronger. I planned to pick up some scratch x at the next supercheap sale - I'll never be able to avoid scratches so I'll come in handy.

As it is, you'd have to be really looking for it to see it, but I know it's there
