Had heard this a few times as i was having my downpipe installed & already had the intake from previous year, however no Check Engine Light or error codes ever thrown! Planned on having Stg2 software update, but the local guy (Newcastle) never got back to me after several phone calls & emails. Maybe the O2 sensor on my DP (42DD) had this resolved already? Who knows?! 3 1/2 years later, all is still good.

I think some people put spacers in there also which works too. Maybe the 42DD doesn't have the O2 sensor inserted so far... But I guess if you got no errors no need for the delete software.

Were you able to retain the heatshield for the driveshaft coupling?

I think they had to bend it / bash it to make it fit, not sure if they were referring to that specific heat shield though.

Do you have a local shop that does xhaust? Most of them can make the DP instore for you. Different country but here we have shop that is quite popular with the vw gti/r and audi s3 crowd. They made me a custom 3" DP that goes from the turbo up to the mid of the car. Cost was around $181 US. Shop took around 4h to do it but no need to remove propshaft even.

I got a quote for a custom unit and it ended up being about the same cost delivered ($1000AUD), the CTS unit is a tried and tested product and to be honest I didn't want to wait around for too long so as soon as I saw that there was one in stock I snapped it up.

    So far no complaints!

Got the modding bug again and looking at making my tiguan stage 2.

Came across this downpipe on eBay made for a golf 6R.
