Installed my 9W7 tonight. Works perfectly. At first i plugged the 9W7 piggy back cable after the MDI piggy back cable and got no sound. Switched them around and everything works. (had me worried for a bit there)

When i plug my iPhone 4 into the MDI (to charge it) it disables the bluetooth audio streaming so you have to plays music via the MDI. (this is better for me anyway as i get song info. on the MFD and steering wheel button controls work)

My steering wheel buttons wont operate the 9W7 for calls and no call info. is displayed on my red MFD.

Does anyone know where you can get a white MFD from?
Or will the 9W7 show call details on this MFD?

Perhaps, but we don't know much about retrofitting the MFI since it needs online coding (which is something a dealer must do), and given how many of them out there who have been a bit useless at performing simple VAG COM coding this could prove to be difficult to install.

You don't have an old bluetooth kit installed so you can't upgrade, get the 5K0... one for 200 EUR. Make sure you've read the installation guides and are confident you can get it working before purchasing.

Changing the box would imply you are reading instructions for a replacement unit - in which case you have a mic already installed. If you don't have bluetooth at all, then you need to install the bluetooth and the PnP wiring, and the mic as well.
Or have we got it wrong?
