What is the hw_radio version? If that is 004 or lower then 4120 could damage the radio board. Best to use 4020.

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but i need some helps..

The secret menu doesn't come up on my device so I have no way of knowing the version number without dismantling the unit (which i'm not willing to attempt).... So my question is, to cover my butt so as to not stuff up my device should i install firmware 4020 first to be able to get the secret menu in order to check the hardware version.... or do i have to do some trick with a VAGcom to get that available...?

edit: should have mentioned i've got a 2010 Mk6 TDI.. cheers!

Yes you can install 4020 to be safe and then you can check the version. Or use vcds to read it.

As this thread is referred to by the excellent firmware upgrade thread (Firmware updates for RNS510 units in Australia/NZ), would it be possible to get this updated for RNS-510 models more recent than 1T0 035 680 G? If it is a matter of time to undertake the research, I would be willing to help, but there is a reasonably comprehensive list at my-gti.com (Volkswagen RNS 510 Hardware and Software (firmware) Versions | my-gti.com).
Daily: 2010 Tiguan TDI | Candy White | Manual | 4MOTION | New York Wheels | Comfort Pack | Tinted Windows | Discover Media | MkVI MFSW | Mk7 Climatronic | RVC | Fog Lights | ECB Nudge Bar | Hella 160 Driving Lights | Rola RBXL135 Cross Bars | To Do: Colour MFD
    Toy: 2008 GTI Pirelli | Sunflower Yellow | 3 Door | DSG | Pirelli Wheels | RNS-510 | 9W7 Bluetooth | RVC | Rear Sensors | Fog Lights | To Do: Mk7 Climatronics, MkVI MFSW, Colour MFD

    Hi folks,
I have a Skoda Columbus that I'm trying to suss out whether it has an LED screen.
    From the hidden menu:
    HW Version H60
    HW Vehicle 0xCA01

From this page RNS510 Part numbers it suggests that it's C10 version.

From this page FAQ - Columbus, RNS 510 - Navigationssysteme - SKODA-BUBEN.DE it may be C12.

From this page Volkswagen RNS 510 Hardware and Software (firmware) Versions | my-gti.com it suggests that either C10 or C12 it'd be an LED.

I'm looking to sell it and want to advertise it as LED if it does have it.

    Thoughts?
    Cheers
