copy maps from RNS 510

Hi all,

Just installed my RNS510 and im looking at doing the proportioning of the hard drive.
problem is my Maps where loaded onto the HDD prior to purchase.
Is there a way to dowload the maps from the HDD onto say a sd card. if not where can i burn a copy of V5 maps?
also how do i check how many sats im coonnected to? or is this only viewable via the secret screen unlooked by VCDS?

No can do on the HDD copy, but there should be a link to the .iso of the V5 maps floating around in the popular threads. Then you just burn it on to a CD/DVD.

You can easily see how many sats you have by pressing the map button (to go to the map screen) and then pressing it again. It'll bring up a side screen with a little drop down menu. In the drop down there should be one called GPS viewer or something, it's near the bottom and it'll show your Sats and what kind of fix you have. 2 is ok for indoor (car park, garage) and 4-6 is what I usually see outdoors with my antenna under the dash.

Have you done the sharkfin antenna run yet btw?

cheers. found it, had to change it from compass. It says 0/10 sats and no fix in the garage. when i first put it in i had no maps so i backed it outside for a while but still nothing. so i put it back inside and had dinner, on return it came up with my location so its working ill just have to give it a run tommorrow to bed it in. as for the sharkfin, no not yet still waiting on the cable. Hope it turns up soon as i want to do my RVC but im not going to run cable twice. just put in the little one above the vents for now.
