gday, i just bought a 2004 (my0 touareg v8. the previous owner had a dodgy Chinese rns-510 clone installed. its tedious and frustrating. the fm has terrible reception and the interface is shocking.

this one looks pretty dam good. can you tell me if it works fully with canbus 1.6?
i'm wanting to install 2 cameras "one facing forward and down from the grill vw logo for offroading"

any progress with increasing the clarity and reception from the AM/FM?

how easy is an after market sub/amp hooked up?

I assume you mean MY05 not MY08? I'll check tomorrow and get back to you but I'm fairly certain there will be one that fits your car if the one pictured on the first page doesn't fit yours already. Audiosources has been expanding the range running the ANS series software and there's even one to suit older B5 passat / mk4 golf.

If it's a model other than ANS-810 / 510 which I stock though, there will be a bit of a wait involved as they have to be special ordered to land with my next batch of units when I make an order, unless you are willing to pay a bit extra for a one-off shipment.

Re the radio reception, no one has had issues with FM and most people still have good AM reception. If you want to make absolutely sure though, DAB+ is in the works but this is something that may take a few months to implement, new hardware means new circuit board designs and reworking the software.

    Yes DAB+ is digital radio.

I have high speed HD DVB-T modules for TV with dual antennas included for $95.

There is one input for reverse camera that the unit will switch to when in reverse or when a signal is detected, and a separate auxiliary video input which you have to manually choose from the unit, although if signal is detected it may still auto switch (I have not tested), as this is what happens when you for example insert an SD card or DVD. So yes you can install two cameras. Would be a good idea to install a simple switch somewhere along the second camera's power input, if you don't feel like using the unit's interface to select it when you need it.

I don't have a website as this is just an afterhours thing for me, although it would be easy enough for me to set one up since I am also a freelance web developer - really it's just a combination of laziness and fear of becoming too busy

No, because it doesn't have a flip out logo.

You may have already answered this by the refinement comment, but i wanted to clarify if that was referring to software or hardware.

From the photos it looks great and i'm considering acquiring one but only if the unit does feel 'cheap' software refinements i'm ot fussed as most of the time it'll be playing stuff.

    Thanks!
Hi Mate, as DkN mentioned I've got an ANS-810 in my wife's MK V Jetta and happy for you to come around and have a look. I'm SoR (manning)

Very happy with the unit and as I have an RNS in my Golf can compare the two and confirm the ANS feels OEM and is terrific value.

PM me if you want to know more

    Cheers
    Chris

Yup there is indeed, I have updated the first post with more info and a picture.

I have two people lined up for special order units and one more interested party, so once I get confirmations I will be make an order for these units right away.

Price on the older model units? Older cars, so should be less

And specification wise and functionally the same as the ANS510?
