Are you meaning at the rear diff?

If So, there's a mob in the states that have done it to a few corvettes and vipers as well, videos are all over YouTube.
still havnt looked them up yet

well i have room in their but I'm not after a drag strip car so maybe i can live with a turbo under the tray and have a cleaner engine bay

Have been meaning to get back to you re dropping over its just been hectic of late.
    thanks for the photos mate!
haha yea got to love the old grinder and fist full of disc method lol
nothing like doin time on the grinder
i am now looking for the right Ram to drive the Die around.
might need someone who has a lathe handy soon
i have to make a cut in the main drive shaft close to the cv joint
measure the inner diameter of the tube and lathe up a small section of tube to fit inside
that will allow me to extend the main driveshaft.

Well got under the Caddy today to take a look at some measurements
busted out the old laser it comes in handy!
Figured out a reasonable way to get perpendicular with he shaft on the dif and gearbox.
found out that i got the front aligned nicely and horizontal with the chassis
but the rear diff is out by maybe 5deg.
I have to get that sorted to have an alignment that is as close to being on the same centre line as is possible
    without having Audis technology.
was toying with the idea of having 2 cv joints in the middle of the shaft that would make things easier
but then more variables to worry about if i get any vibration noises.
but boy this little thing to roll around on made an Awesome difference!!

Cheers mate just prioritizing a few things around.
    Funds and direction etc.
I have looked at different exhaust options
And will soon be building stainless exhausts for GTI and the caddy.
I feel that I need to get this engine started so as to hear it and just get excited.... It will help alot
    To gain momentum again
    So it's
    - get sleeve for driveshaft
-Align rear diff with front transmission
-Install driveshaft for fitting later get balanced
-Fabricate exhaust leaving room for fuel tank
Couple other little jobs and Go for Start your engines baby
    Finish up front assembly
    Etc etc
If Anyones Wondering I Turfed my home made bender
    And got a
    Pro Tools 105 HD

    Update.
Kind of Freaky but i did put a fair amount of time into getting the engine sitting parallel with the chassis
using Bently measurements but,,, Since getting extensive Caroliner measurements and measuring the output on the gearbox for the
front to rear driveshaft its damn near perfectly parallel and centred!
this is good news for me because i only have to focus now on the rear which was off by about 6 deg.
Unfortunalty i didn't have enough play in the frame to turn it true even with my modified bolts that are based of original Vag 10mm bolts.
Anyway its a challenge. So their is a plan in the works and its well underway.

New jack stand that i have made for the rear of the Caddy.
this is helping me to set the chassis of the caddy level
and about 700mm of the ground whilst i work under their and get all my measuring and setting done.

Modified Bolt x4 used for mounting haldex frame
Thanks to Bret an industrial electrician at work i know who is also handy on the Lathe

Previous spacers drilled out and now being replaced so as to get perfect as practicable alignment.

new Spacers 50/50/20mm now mounted underside of space frame tags.
As the haldex unit already was sitting quite high of the ground i could afford to lower it
and make my job of repositioning the frame easier.

    ok This is cool.
Big thanks to Al who swung this piece of seamless tube on his trusty Lathe.
Glad to have your mark on the Caddy mate.
This Tube will be used to lengthen the main driveshaft all of which I'm preparing for now.

    Looking superb, mate.

Sorry I never had the time to do that tube. I haven't even got time to do the stuff I'm getting paid for at the moment! haha.

HAHA I miss the way Queenslanders Talk!! ;-D
No Wories Preeny thanks for even considering to help mate, i know your busy and so good luck
    with your responsibilities mate!

The beginnings of a chassis JIG.
Using the caroliner measuring points on the chassis of the caddy
a JIG can be made to align perfectly with the chassis on varying planes
    verticle and horizontal.
From these alignments I can make a permanent centreline and measure out from this to set the wheel base more accurately
as well as align the engine gearbox output and rear haldex unit.
