The VW Racing/Racing Line intake is so overpriced its not funny. I had one on my old Mk6 R for a period of time and although it was ok, its not worth the cash (mind you i got mind 2nd hand for $500) they ask for them. This Ramair intake looks pretty sweet...only thing im not a fan of is the big oily foam filter. I would be changing that for a blue coloured (to match the car) pod filter from AFE Air Filters - Original Equipment Replacement - Pro 5R - 5 Layer Oiled Media | aFe POWER

Yes I'm not a fan of oiled filters and relying on oil to catch the dust. I'll definitely look at getting a non-oil pod if I keep it on Tigger73's Scirocco R

On the engine dyno when tuning our race motor we could not see a difference between wet and dry. Wet would most probably start to affect the flow quicker as it will pick up more dirt than the dry filter but it is your motor.

Ran the car on the dyno today - 222kwaw.

Here's the comparison between stage 1 and stage 2:

Making healthy power - have you fitted a HPFP such as the Autotech unit yet? If not, then theres more mid range to be had.

No HPFP or intercooler so the power output is fuelling limited at the moment.

If I did these 2 mods I'd be pushing 235kwaw and the only thing stopping it going 12's on the 1/4 mile would be lack of traction.

I've actually driven a stage 2+ Scirocco with semi-slicks and 235kwaw and the thing is brutally quick, but still struggles to get the power to the ground in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. The issue then becomes intervention of stability control in 4th gear causing throttle cut due to wheel spin.

Calipers painted. Happy with the way it's come out.
