Yes just checking to make sure my fuel consumption is within the norm. Didn't buy the ROC to save on fuel, I have the Honda Jazz for that !

Golf R owners tend to report similar (or worse) fuel consumption with the same engine. As discussed above, everything sounds above board.

My partner averages about 10.9 city driving down beach rd every day.

When I get it on the weekend it averages 13.9.

Complaining about fuel consumption on a turbo sport(ish) car is silly.. Buy a diesel if you're worried.

My Scirocco is at 4500km now and the average sits around 9.7. Every now and again when I do a drive to the Gold Coast, it gets down to 8.2.

But I have noticed when I start her in the morning, let her warm up and head out the drive way the average is up at 32 and rapidly drops from there. I just assumed the average was based on your current trip rather than the entire history of the car.

Despite this, Im not at all concerned about petrol, it's the price Im happy to pay to drive an awesomely fun car!

10.9 at 8000Kms. Shooting for 13, then I know I'll be driving it like it was meant to be driven

Observed something very interesting and not sure if it's related.
I drove the car more aggressively after the 1000km engine run-in period (yes i know there are 2 sides to this debate on whether a run-in period is necessary) and the full tank fuel range has now IMPROVED. It is now showing more than 450km for a full tank whereas in the past it was around 400km.

I've been complaining that my Roc drinks much more than my GTI (15%). After reading about your fuel consumption, perhaps I should be grateful or not driving my car hard enough.haha (520km when fuel light up)

9.1 after 8,000km, with several long distance drives to Sydney, snowy ranges (Hotham, Mt Buffalo). Lots of laid-back driving in peak-hour traffic every day, with some sprinkles of spirited dosing on the weekends.

Edit: Can do 650-770km on a full tank of fuel on a long distance cruise. I tried this twice, and averages 8.1-8.3

Reminds me of that classic Top Gear scirocco moment....clarkson "Berlin to Warsaw on one tank" (which happens to be 590km), or shouldn't i have mentioed the war.

PS: yes i know the scirocco in that film was a TDI
