    i turned the hot temperature dial to max. and my feet didn't feel much hot.

    It's very easy to fix the gauge.

    You have the gauge on the dash itself which rarely fails, so look at the common first;

    First with what I've read get your thermostat and a proper coolant flush done. Replace the faulty temperature sender at the same time, check the wiring of the sensors & then scan the car, if the sensor is not reading a correct value you will most likely have a fault: Coolant temperature signal implausible etc.

    damit the cruise control is dead again few months after i resoldered the pins.
