its a bummer the vento doesnt have a hole in the roof to drop it into.

also picked up these... surprised no one has them yet, was eyeing them off for a while but was still unsure if i was actually ever going to get a VR, but now i do.

so VR made it home today with a clutch bleed and coolant flush thanks to stu and woody (and tool hire from Jarred!)
drove it very slowly and carefully home (3hrs) except for buzzing a certain parked car to set the alarm off closer to home
Gave it a wash and a quick spin up the street as i hadnt pushed the car yet.
Very happy with my purchase even if there is a lot wrong with it... Mum almost talked me into keeping it as a VR and building the vento with something else (meaning i could have 3 cars just becuase she didnt want to see it pulled apart) she is very impressed with the look and build of it) but i think the VR needs a boot .

Will grab some pics tomorrow as it looking much nicer without the brake covered wheels and the trims all blackened even it was a half arsed wash. bit of a shame to pull it to pieces.

my dog REALLY doesnt know what to think about the train/air horns

    horrible phone pic.

but gave the car a quick wash, and did a few coats of protection on the plastics.
other then half the lip missing and the paint needing a good clay/waxing it came up pretty good.
Even polished the remus exhaust tips for a laugh

Soo everyone likes pictures, so here they come.

so we have leather seats with no damage that i have found yet.
    a full working sunroof.
243327km on the clock by the time i got it home.
quart speakers held in by some glue??
    the very organised engine bay
    the horns
    more engine bay confusion
boot being emptied. spax springs, window regs, new air con, new green stuff pads, vr air box, toe bar, and alot of other stuff. interesting looking amp fixed to the back of the seats currently running the speakers so havnt sussed that out.
polished the remus exhaust for lols
half a vr lip missing, headlight has moisture (may just be that the cover on the back is broken yet)
    chains are noisey as.
engine has a few oil leaks.

VR has no working windows, over heating problem, few electronics dont work such as the cruise, 5th gear is interesting to find as the pedal cluster or something is bent, drivers door lock missing.

    but on the postive:
Engine has new new thermostat housing with metal crackpipe and new water pump about 10k ago
2.5kg Fidanza Flywheel with replacable steel friction plate
    Sachs HD clutch (~40k old)
New Drivers Side Driveshaft (full assembly) ~15k old
    New Fuel Pump ~10k ago
car was still regestered so gave me enough time to get it to my gfs where stu and woody helped with a few things and looked over it and gave me some 'mk3 advice' on such things as the locks and boot

remus exhaust has a monster hole/is missing a section, so makes some serious noise and popping and banging. between this and the commo stance i turned a few heads bringing it through bairnsdale.

so plan is to sort the clutch and see if there is anything broken/needing to be replaced.
order a seal/gasket kit for the top and bottom.
    order timing chains
    have the head checked out.
basically get the engine freshened up without blowing a huge budget and replacing everything on it. try to sort any issues before it goes into the vento

will try and get it in the vento while keeping it as stock as possible, want to try and get it regoed without too many problems.
