Gotta love the Diesel fuel economy

Coming back from Melbourne few years back and got to 960ish km, i think, on the odo, and chickened out.Had to fill it.
7.9L/100km
No trip computer on mine tho'.

I'd managed to get under 5l/100km on a recent trip from Cairns to Townsville and return.

The other aspect is the torque they have. I was crossing the Cardwell range each way, cruise control set to 100km/h, my Octavia sat in 6th gear at just under 2000rpm, and the only thing that changed was the instantaneous fuel consumption. It never felt like it was struggling.
