When you look at the car's manual or even the brochure at the dealer. At the back where all the specs are listed, look at the engine power, especially for Diesel engines, it's noted that the power output is based on 51 Cetane Rating which is Europe's minimum standard. Australian standard for diesel is 46 cetane with (if I remember correctly) 50mg of sulfur per liter or so. BP Ultimate diesel is the only one in Oz with 52 cetane rating and only a fifth (1/5) of sulfur compared to normal diesel. Less sulfur in fuel, less soot in DPF. When I picked up my Tiguan TDI last year, I asked the sales person in regards to any specific diesel but was told that any is ok and car won't have any problems. My first full tank was provided by dealer, no idea where they filled up, my 2nd was was with Mobil Diesel. After some research and forums, BP Ultimate turned out to be the best for it. Drove the tank down to reserve and filled up full with BP Ultimate. Noticed that the engine was quieter afterwards and DSG shifted through the gears earlier than before. Since then, nothing but BP Ultimate Diesel

Well very interesting the thing has been used only on BP , don't suppose you kept all those receipts .
Id be parking the thing out the front of your dealer with a big cutout lemon on it.

That's not specified on the datasheet. Probably a company secret lol

    Actually kept at least 99%

    1. In case something does go wrong and have evidence as diesel engines seem bit fussy and,

    2. Just a habbit of keeping them in the ashtray

Plus fill up at the same petrol station all the time

    hey Guys

I was strict on receipts at First But the Wife is lazy and wouldn't keep it up, Now she understands why!
Do have last few years of credit card statements for showing BP service stations only though, although its not going to help, they are not claiming its fuel type , and they would be quite stupid to try! ( I have kept all my BP receipts on my Transporter though )

Cant get a better outcome from VW than $2800 total parts and labour , Unfortunately gunna have to go with it as I've had enough!
As far as I'm concerned its theft and should have been fully covered by VW for such an early failure,
I cannot get a straight answer from VW service or customer care as to why injectors would have a fault at such low K's? It must be a miraculous failure as its not a manufacturing factory fault according to Customer service as they say never happened before, (which is untrue as the VW parts guy I know well said he's sold 4 sets of them, and an Independent who is an X VW technician said its extremely common, and a third independent VW specialist the same), VW service say the "Non Genuine Diesel additive wouldn't have damaged them" , I asked if they did extensive Laboratory and real world testing to Prove that before putting it in our car? just to hear them stutter and squirm, Typically Lying and denying seems to be their only answers, VW and its representatives obviously still haven't learnt from Diesel gate have they?

Told them the old injectors must be returned to me ! This freaked them out , which is exactly as I wanted!
I'm going to get them independently tested and I'm not exactly a dumb ass myself either so will do some testing of my own, It also assures me that they're not just removing them and cleaning them ! (as you can tell I trust VW zero%)

Will keep you updated to how it goes and will be interesting to see if the fuel economy changes after the injector are done,

Still Not happy at all with this, Quite disgusted in fact! definitely won't be updating to a T6 or Amarok ever! and bet the wife will start looking for a different brand car very soon also, as so will I !

Know of any Quality Manufacturers that don't Lie and deceive there customers anyone? LOL

Their behaviour reminds me of the old pommy attitude to the colonies that signalled the end for them.
    Arrogance has it's consequences.

Vw have confirmed they will cease with 'clean diesel' strategy in the U.S. come 2019.
BMW's emissions homologation process in the U.S. has been delayed by the EPA focus on them now.

IMO, the VW should never start sellinng the cars there. There are many countries in the world that would take the access of the VW production.

Can any of the 2 independents do the repair for you for less than what was the best price from your delear?

The injectors can fail from many casues, but also from misfueling with petrol, contaminated fuel and so on. Did you keep all the invoices from the dealer to have a proof that you complained about the engine not running well?

New Delhi has deregistered 10+ year old diesels so along with China the writing seems to be on the wall.
