Govt is planning to bring our fuel standards to euro level this year.

I understand our sulphur is 10ppm.
Caltex was Woolies previous supplier but from my personal experience we found that the Woolies diesel was inferior to the Caltex diesel here in Canberra. This may not change even with the change of ownership of the Woolies servos, unless as part of the BP deal they all become BP servos.

    Caltex lost out to BP.
Note there has never been an insider spill the beans on 'additives'.
I challenge anyone to come out with specific information relating to the magic elixir that make one brand special.
In the U.K. it's Shell that's talked about as being the special brew........Nitro V

Strange unless it's not Vortex diesel. Voertex diesel with minimum of 50 cetene rating comes as 2nd best we can fill after BP Ultimate. Hopefully they lift the standard for Oz so we don't have to be picky.

Just so long as the HPFP gets sufficient lubrication.

I would still say, regardless of standard, the most important thing is to be picky about the particular servo. Poor tank maintenance can mean water and particles.
The multiple plaques at my local metro they keep at the counter giving them praise for fuel cleanliness is a winner in my book (althouhg i dont use their diesel in my new allroad with dpf - i do use it in my older one though)

I have not tried BP Ultimate yet not many BP servos on my side of town, hopefully the BP takeover of the Woolies servos will change that). There is a Caltex near home and another near work, so we use Vortex Diesel in both of our TDIs.

Woolies may be supplied by Caltex, but that does not necessarily mean that Woolies Diesel get all the extra additives that are in the Caltex Vortex Diesel. With the way Woolies deals with their suppliers it would not surprise me if Caltex get the cheapest supertanker of diesel coming out of Singapore that they can get away with (ie just meets standard) to supply Woolies to try to maximise their profit while leaving the better quality diesel for their own Caltex branded servos.

If sulphur is a lubricant I'm worried if HPFP lubication is compromised by ultra low sulphur.
