    OUCH! That's not cool...

I know when I had my VE HSV Clubsport I lost one of the keys on the golf course, inlcuding supply and reprogramming by the dealer it was $220. So I reckon anywhere up to about $300 (god forbid).

    Seriously, keep searching! LoL

I recall when I picked up my Passat the bloke stressed not to lose the key. He mentioned they have to come from Germany and cost $400+

    Mate,

I would keep searching I was told when I picked up my car by the dealer that they cost a mint so don't lose, drop or wet the thing.

just called them and confirmed $435.00 from Germany and then the cost of being booked in and programmed to car on top of that.

Glad I know where my spare key is.

I asked about a replacement key as a second spare for off-site storage (in case the house burns down, etc).. was quoted about $495 for a new key programmed.. Passats are capable of having up to 4 keys coded for them as well..

I had to replace one for my R36 (stolen from house) and Solitaire Adelaide charged $585 including gst. It took about a week for the actual key to arrive and 20 minutes for the programming. Hope that helps. pj

$435, $495, $585... any other takers! Great to see a standard price model on a couple of bits of plastic, a chip and all up $10 worth of stuff.

They (VWA) dont understand that ripping people off will only hurt in the long run!
