Cheap JB1 for 1.8L on eBay

Not mine but thought I'd share this, I would have snapped it up if it was for the 2.0L.

Bargain! I would buy it if I did not already have one, fantastic units. This is also suitable for all GTI/R Golfs BUT the BMS data cable is required to make 2 simple changes to the boost safety number and the fuel trim number to suit the Golf 2.0.

If you are a SA buyer I'm happy to configure it for you ! beer not essential

When I purchased mine from the US site the Polo 'version' was not available at that stage. George Smooth, the BMS 'specialist' for VW assured me the units were identical and that the 2 settings I quoted above only needed to be changed. For std. sets ups, Golf is Fuel 40, Boost 4.8 and I changed these to Fuel 25, Boost 4.0 for the Polo. I have made other changes since but these are the recommended set ups for a std. car and yes once again the unit itself at this time was identical for Golf Mk 7 GTI/R and 2015 Polo GTI.

Being a piggyback, can this be removed for servicing and warranty work at the dealership? Is it detectable by the dealer like a flash tune?

Looks like its gone, but out of interest, are these suitable for Passat 132 1.8t's?

I'd imagine so but worth checking
    9N3 Polo GTI - 91 MkII GTI - 16 B8 Passat 132tsi Comfortline
    Past - 14 MkVII GTI, 9n3 Polo GTI, Mk5 Golf GTI, Mk6 Golf 77tsi, Mk6 Golf 90tsi, Mk2 Golf GTI, Mk3 Golf VR6.
Wanted: Mk1 GTI white or black
