    140 TDI fuel econony

There are not many 140 TDIs out there. Creating a thread to discuss fuel economy. 110 TDI can share too.

I am on my second tank and still avg. 8.5 combined.

People suggested that it will come down after some time. How are your experience so far.

Check the engine oil level frequently, make sure that it doesn't go up on the dipstick.

How long are your trips? Do you drive a lot in the peak hours traffic?

Also, the best fuel economy is achieved in the speeds much lower than 100km/h. I'd say around and max. 80km/h for the Tiguan.
...and every time (almost) your foot is off the accelerator while moving in the gear the consumption is 0.

I am trying to see new Tiguan consumption compared to mine...

What's the fuel consumption in L/h when you wait at the traffic light? With the aircon off.

From what I can see on the photo, the oil sits at the upper grove. If this is factory oil, I had the same amount on my 2015 - 130Tdi. First time I checked the oil was next day after picking it up from dealer and was same as yours. It remained the same throughout the year and 11,500kms. After the first service, it was filled properly to upper limit of a mesh-like indicater between the 2 groves. If it exceeds that limit, you could be suffering from oil-thinning which is very bad. Also, you can have a look at the service indicater on the MFD, see how many days are left for oil change and inspection. From day one, should say 365 days / 15,000kms and 730 days / 30,000kms. The oil quality sensor will work out if the car has not been driven to ideal conditions to say and reduce time and kms for inspection interval.
