Thread: Wagon spare wheel tool kit holder

  1. #1

Wagon spare wheel tool kit holder

Is there an alternative holder for the toolkit (jack, wheel brace, etc) that goes inside the spare wheel?
I ask because if the standard kit holder is removed, the boot floor can be lowered by about 50mm. Not much, granted, but every little helps.

I'd add pics but not sure how to, sorry.

Can’t you just leave the tools inside wheel?

    A Golf one might work.

I could but they'd just rattle around and scratch the spare alloy wheel.

I'll look into it. I didn't know the golf had that setup, thanks. 😊

As we have a full size spare we are unable to raise and lower the floor.
However, if you use a space saver, you will be able to utilise this functionality, as per the following Passat Review: YouTube

Check out the clip around the 40sec mark, it shows how is can be lowered and raised and displays the space saver kit...

Now I'm on my PC, I can upload pics.

Here is a pic of my boot floor in the lower position with a full size spare wheel. I just had to remove the tool kit and a couple of plastic trim pieces that stop the floor going into the lower position.

Now just need to get hold of the foam kit holder that goes inside the spare wheel

Jesus Christ! Did you have to break the trim off to do that? I mean, I knew this could be done on European models with space saver spares. But I'd much rather have a full size matching spare than a bee's penis' worth of extra space.
